Hello Everyone,
Two years ago, I had the privilege of volunteering for this cause, initially thinking I would help someone else. However, the experience opened my eyes to the profound fulfillment that comes from the act of giving. Now, I would like your support to pursue a goal with the potential to transform the lives of those who lack the opportunities we often take for granted. Your can make a significant impact in restoring hope and opportunity for these individuals.
In a week, Mercy Ships will gather in the vibrant port city of Miami, FL in support of our mission to bring hope and healing to those in need. This event will raise funds for a critical part of Mercy Ships’ surgical operations: the HOPE Center.
What is the HOPE Center?
The HOPE Center is where lives are transformed. This sanctuary bridges the gap for patients and caregivers who come from remote regions and face significant challenges when accessing essential outpatient care. Once patients receive care onboard the Global Mercy, the HOPE Center is where they will stay to recover – sometimes for several months.
In Sierra Leone, our aim is that 40% of the patients we serve originate from rural populations, and the HOPE Center is central to this mission. We have embarked on a bold renovation project to create a first-class facility providing a safe, comfortable environment for patients, caregivers, and medical staff. Your support will not only help us operate the HOPE Center, but also enable us to perform free transformational surgery for over 2,000 patients, providing specialized medical care to those in need.
We invite you to watch Awa's inspiring patient story and we urge you to join us in making a tangible impact.
